Registries and Charities

First, though, PLEASE don't feel obliged to get us presents. Your presence is presents enough (ha ha). But seriously, a lot of you are coming a long way, and we know that costs a lot. Similarly, if you feel you MUST give us a gift, don't feel pressured to spend a lot. Just because we occasionally registered for expensive things does not mean you have get them.

That being said, folks keep bugging us about a registry. And we did realize that though we had great pots and pans and cutlery (and you may not know that), maybe it was time for matching dishes or something silly like that.

So, we are registered at:
Williams & Sonoma
Macy's*
and
Amazon

Also, it is traditional to give to charities in times of joy and celebration. Here's some that we like. Warning, however: As Susannah's noticed, when you give to a charity, they may write you every week asking for more money. So that might happen. But I'm sure there's an easy way to get taken off their lists, right?

Some charities:

Doctors Without Borders, going everywhere with medicine
Medic Alert (Susannah has one of these, as do lots of old people and diabetics)
Habitat for Humanity, busy after Katrina
Mazon, a Jewish community group that tries to alleviate hunger everywhere

*A note about Macy's. They had some in-store sales featuring most of the items we chose. So it may be worth checking out store prices or buying things when they go on sale online.
